Bourton and Frankton Football Club will begin preparations for the new football season next week and are inviting new players to join them for the forthcoming 2022/23 campaign.
Similar to February, it has been a frustrating March with only the one football fixture played.
Not much in the way of football action to report on to sum up February.
A bit of a mixed bag of results for B & F FC in January.
Their 4-2 Division Three reversal was a third successive defeat but it was not without its controversial moments.
Having gone a goal behind, Bourton were level at the break after Kurt Mahoney converted a penalty to make it 1-1.
The visitors then fell behind for the second time early into the second half but again clawed their way back level with Stuart McQuillan on the mark to bring the score to 2-2.
Back came Craven again taking the lead for a third time at 3-2, but Bourton looked to have levelled once again only for a hotly-disputed offside decision and subsequent lengthy consultation to deny them their third goal of the afternoon.
To add salt into the wounds, Craven then broke late on to snatch a fourth goal which itself had more than a hint of offside and strong appeals turned down by the visitor’s defence, to end the afternoon’s scoring.

As an FA Charter Status Club, it continues to offer excellent facilities and continues to be recognised as having one of the best pitches and playing surfaces in the region outside of non-league football. In addition to changing facilities and showers, Bourton and Frankton’s training facilities have been further boosted with the completion of an upgrade to its floodlighting system.
As well as enjoying a thriving social scene, club training is held every Tuesday evening 7:00pm to 9:00pm (meet 6.45pm) throughout the course of the season at their ground on Main Street, Bourton-on-Dunsmore.
Bourton and Frankton have an excellent track record over the years of developing and bringing through young talent. With that in mind, they are again keen to hear from and welcome players aged 16 years and over including those who are looking to make the transition from junior/youth or Sunday football into Saturday adult/senior level.
