Bourton and Frankton returned to Coventry Alliance League Division 3 action after a two week lay-off by earning a well-deserved 4-2 home win over Crick Reserves.
After a fortnight off due to postponements, B & F were good value for their success and gained revenge for their narrow Coventry Benevolent Cup defeat at the hand of the same opposition ironically in their last outing and again at The Field.
We did have to recover from going a goal behind to do so as George Smith equalised and then Michael Lunn gave Bourton the lead before Crick levelled matters by half time.
However a Danny McManus penalty and a strike from Tom Armitage in the second half tipped the balance in Bourton’s favour for a very welcome three league points, in doing so completing a league double over the visitors on the back of a 4-2 success at their place at the start of October.
- This Saturday Bourton and Frankton travel to league leaders Kenilworth Sporting, kick-off at 2:15 pm.
