(Return to) Football update

The easing of the Government’s lockdown restrictions has allowed the return of organised sport and with it an unexpcted resumption of competitive football to end the season.

Whilst the Coventry Alliance League season for 2020/21 has been delcared null and void for the second year running due to the pandemic, the League has hastily arranged a series of end of season internal cup competitions to satisfy the hunger of football-deprived players.

Bourton and Frankton FC were allocated to play in the Pete Toogood Cup, which comprised of clubs from Divisions 3 and 4 drawn initially into groups before the leading teams progress to a knockout stage.

Due to The Field being made available and prepared for the upcoming cricket season, B & F’s matches in the competition are all away from home, with results to date as follows:-

Saturday 10th April 2021

Striders FC 5 Bourton and Frankton 3

Saturday 17th April 2021

Whitnash Town 4 Bourton and Frankton 1

Saturday 24th April 2021

Woodlands WMC 3 Bourton and Frankton 3

Remaining group games are:

Saturday 1st May – Rugby FC Reserves v Bourton and Frankton

Date tbc – Yelvertoft v Bourton and Frankton
